BUTCHA B
In Liverpool there is not a massive hiphop scene, the sound of the city is still led by indie-rock but I heard some good stuff coming from the L8 neighborhood.
I met Thomas Butcher aka Butcha B because he was one of the artists who gravitated around the ‘House of Vibez’, the home studio of producer Lloyd Massett, in L8.
I was positively impressed when I heard Butcha B freestyling on some of Lloyd’s music and after some time hanging out all together we decided to produce a single.
Between the different tunes they made me listen I picked ‘So Much’. It was a matter of empowering the demo they already made previously and adding some production, where I had the chance to have some fun with my tape delay units.
Tom was part of New Tribe, pretty known band around Liverpool and surrounds and then he went solo. It was a very relaxed and organic experience and it was fun to be invited to be on the video. I really had the chance to live another side of Liverpool music scene.
