JIMMI & THE REVOLVERS
Jimmi & The Revolvers was a band that as The Shipbuilders, in my opinion, represented at best the sound of Liverpool pop/rock/folk.
Definitely a vintage sound, Beatles era or maybe even before like Skiffle music.
Lot of people were attending their gigs and as I liked their music I asked them if they wanted to be part of ‘Ocean Waves & The Mersey Sounds’ compilation.
The accepted and so we decided to record two songs, ‘The Morning Paper’ and ‘Everytime’. We headed to the Motor Museum Studio in Liverpool and start to work to track the tunes.
I still remember the enthusiasm of when we were listening in the control room the recording of ‘Everytime’. It was pure recording and already sounded great. That was also an atypical song for the band because for the first time they were adding a psychedelic sound.
It would have been very interesting to see what direction the band would have taken but as the very most of the bands they split up.
I personally really like a 50’s vibe with its typical choirs and would have loved more Jimmy & The Revolvers sound around Liverpool.
